On January 17, 2012, Region 10 filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order with Oregon Potato Company for CERCLA Section 103 and EPCRA Section 304 violations. The facility, which produces dried and hydrofrozen potato products, is located in Warden, Washington. On July 2, 2009, Oregon Potato released an estimated 500 pounds of ammonia from the facility and failed to immediately report the release to the Washington State Emergency Response Commission and the National Response Center. Oregon Potato will pay a penalty of $66,235.
