On February 14, 2013, Region 1 settled claims in a complaint, filed on September 24, 2012, against Wash Safe Industries, Inc. of Brewster, Massachusetts for alleged violations of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). The complaint alleged that Wash Safe: (1) sold or distributed twelve unregistered pesticide cleaning products between November 1, 2010 and July 2011 in violation of Section 12(a)(1)(A) of FIFRA, and (2) produced pesticides subject to FIFRA at an unregistered establishment in violation of Section 12(a)(2)(L) of FIFRA. The company will pay $10,000 as a part of the settlement based on its financial ability to pay.
