OPERATIONS AT THE SITE FROM 1971 TO 1988 INVOLVED CLEANING, PAINTING AND RECYCLING EMPTY DRUMS WHICH ORIGINALLY HELD SUBSTANCES CONSIDERED HAZARDOUS WASTES UNDER CERCLA. CLEAN- UP AT THE SITE BEGAN UNDER THE STATE 2/94. EPA APPROVED CONTINUED CLEANUP IN AN ACTION MEMO DATED 8/8/94. REMOVAL WAS COMPLETED 1/19/95. PAST COSTS THROUGH 5/3/97 WERE VALUED AT $287,815.71.
