On March 23, 2012, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 308 and 309(a) of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Bandwheel Production Co., LLC, located in Osage County, Oklahoma. The AO was issued in response to violations of Section 301 of the CWA. The AO requires Bandwheel Production Co., LLC to (1) cease discharges of pollutants from the facility; (2) remove all brine from the flow path located in between the facility and the tributary of Hominy Creek; (3) remove brine from the tributary of Hominy Creek; and
(4) submit written certification. Bandwheel Production Co., LLC must respond to EPA Region 6 within thirty (30) days of receiving the AO.
