On August 15, 2012, the EPA filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order settling claims against Nelson Petroleum Company (Nelson Petroleum) for violations of the spill prevention requirements of Section 311(j) of the Clean Water Act, 33 U.S.C. § 1321(j), at its Arlington and Granite Falls facilities in Washington state. Nelson Petroleum has agreed to pay a federal penalty of $25,000 to settle this matter.
