On May 29, 2012, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Sections 308 and 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Citation Oil & Gas Corp., located in Healdton, Oklahoma. The AO was issued in response to violations of Section 301 of the CWA. The AO requires Citation Oil & Gas Corp. to: 1) cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; 2) remove all brine from the flow located between the facility and the point of entry into the tributary of Walnut Creek; 3) remove all detected brine from the tributary of Walnut Creek and all water bodies down-gradient. Citation Oil & Gas Corp. must respond to EPA Region 6 within thirty (30) days of receiving this AO.
