On May 29, 2012, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 308 and 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Citation Oil and Gas Corp. located in Healdton, Oklahoma. The AO was issued in response to violation of Section 301 of the CWA. The AO requires Citation Oil & Gas Corp. to: 1) Cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; 2) remove all brine from the flow located between the facility and the point of entry into the tributary of Walnut Creek; 3) remove all brine from the tributary of Walnut Creek and all water bodies down gradient. Citation Oil & Gas Corp. must respond to EPA Region 6 within thirty (30) days of receiving the AO.
