On June 1, 2012, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Sections 308 and 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Jerry Langley Oil Company, LLC, located in Union County, Arkansas. The AO was issued in response to violation of Section 301 of the CWA. The AO requires Jerry Langley Oil Company, LLC to: 1) cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; 2) remove all brine from the flow path located in between the facility and the identified tributary of Smackover Creek; and 3) remove all brine from the tributary of Smackover Creek located at Latitude 33° 20.590 North and Longitude 92° 41.050 West, which were discharged from the facility on or about April 11, 2012. Jerry Langley Oil Company, LLC must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of receiving this AO.
