Summary EPA entered into an Administrative Order on Consent (ÂAOCÂ) with 70 potentially responsible parties pursuant to which those parties will perform a time-critical removal action to address contaminated sediments in the Lower Passaic River at River Mile 10.9 (in the area of Lyndhurst). The settling parties will remove surface sediments in the area with the highest concentrations of contaminants, including PCBs, mercury and dioxin, and place a cap in this area to reduce the potential for exposure to and/or resuspension of these sediments.
