On September 13, 2012, the EPA issued an Administrative Order (AO) to Hurley Enterprises, Inc. (Hurley) for failure to follow the EPAÂs domestic septage disposal regulations. The AO requires Hurley to cease all application of domestic septage to land unless such application complies with the regulatory pathogen and vector attraction reduction requirements and land application rate limit. The AO also requires that Hurley comply with the regulatory recordkeeping requirements and submit quarterly reports that contain the information required to be developed under the domestic septage disposal regulations for each load of domestic septage that is land applied.
