On December 1, 2014, the court of the Northern District of California entered a final Consent Decree settlement against Sims Metal Management to resolve alleged violations of the Clean Water Act identified by EPA at their Redwood City facility during inspections in 2011. The Consent Decree requires Sims to pay a $189,500 penalty and to investigate and clean-up sediment caused by its metal recycling operations.
