## Summary

Aero-Dynamics, Inc. has agreed to pay $118,000 to resolve violations of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the federal hazardous waste management regulations, and New Hampshires hazardous waste rules. The company operates a metal finishing, plating, and anodizing facility located in Seabrook, New Hampshire. Hazardous wastes generated at the Aero-Dynamics facility include corrosive, toxic, ignitable, and potentially reactive oxidizer wastes; halogenated solvent wastes; wastewater treatment sludges from electroplating operations; and wastewater treatment sludges from the chemical conversion coating of aluminum.

The violations included the failure to: conduct adequate hazardous waste determinations; minimize the possibility of release, fire, and/or explosion and risk to human health or the environment; ensure the presence and implementation of emergency preparedness and prevention measures; have an adequate hazardous waste training program; maintain an adequate contingency plan; close containers of hazardous waste; properly label hazardous waste; mark containers with the beginning accumulation date; manage hazardous waste in accordance with the requirements for a satellite accumulation area; have an adequate hazardous waste inspection program; and treat hazardous waste in accordance with a limited permit. After the inspection, Aero-Dynamics acted promptly to bring its facility into compliance with the hazardous waste management requirements.
