An October 2, 2012 inspection revealed that the company violated EPCRA by failing to timely submit Form Rs for ammonia, copper, nickel, and chromium. The parties reached an agreement and signed a Consent Agreement and Final Order ( CAFO ) that required the company to pay a cash penalty of $5,636 and to complete a Supplemental Environmental Project ( SEP ) to resolve the alledged violations. In order to complete the SEP, the company will purchase and install a state-of-the-art fixed ammonia detection and alarm system at the Facility and operate it for at least three years; and (2) purchase a handheld ammonia detection system.
