Region 1 and New England Boatworks, Inc. (NEB) of Rhode Island entered into a Consent Agreement and Final Order to resolve Clean Air Act (CAA) violations. The violations stemmed from NEB's failure to obtain a CAA minor new source review permit, failure to obtain a Title V operating permit or emissions cap, and failure to comply with specific certification and recordkeeping requirements for the surface coating of miscellaneous metal parts at its boatyard facility in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. The company will pay a civil penalty of $31,500.
