EPA REQUESTS DOJ ASSISTANCE FOR CONTINUOUS RCRA VIOLATIONS; IMPROPER CONTAINER MANAGEMENT, STORAGE BEYOND 90 DAYS WITHOUT A PERMIT, FAILURE TO PROVIDE EMPLOYEE TRAINING, FAILURE TO HAVE AN UPDATED CONTINGENCY PLAN. Parish Chemical acted as an illegal RCRA storage facility, failing to obtain a permit, liability insurance, financial assurance for closure, submission of a Part A Permit application and other associated requirements. The facility also failed to comply with generator requirements for a large quantity generator of hazardous waste, including worker training, Contingency Plan completeness, hazardous waste determinations, container and tank management requirements, and inspections.
