On February 25, 2016, Region 10 filed a consent agreement and final order resolving violations of the Clean Water Act by Special Interest Auto Works, Inc. and Troy Peterson. Respondents operate an auto salvage facility in Kent, Washington, and discharged stormwater to waters of the U.S. without a permit. Pollutants in the stormwater discharged from this facility include petroleum, zinc, copper, arsenic, cadmium and lead. The company agreed to pay a penalty of $30,000 and has modified the facility to prevent future discharges.
