On August 8, 2013, EPA entered into an AOC with 12 parties for the performance of a pre-design investigation (ÂPDIÂ) at the Centredale Manor Restoration Project Superfund Site in North Providence, RI (ÂSiteÂ). Respondents are generator/arranger PRPs who sent barrels to a barrel recycling operator located on a portion of the Site. EPA is currently involved in litigation related to the Site, involving all but one Respondent and other parties. The PDI contemplated by this AOC includes a physical survey covering the area of the Site where potential buried waste material and associated highly contaminated soil may be located. Data collected in the performance of the PDI will be used to determine whether waste material is present that requires off-site disposal and/or treatment, and the extent of such material.
