Summary

Imperial Plating Company (Imperial) owns and operates a plating facility that is an area source of hazardous air pollutant emissions at 7030 West 60th Street, Chicago, Illinois (the Facility), where it conducts, among other things, zinc/nickel electroplating. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency conducted an inspection of the Facility on February 6, 2013 and issued an information request to Imperial on April 12, 2013 to determine, among other things, compliance with the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants: Area Source Standards for Plating and Polishing Operations at 40 C.F.R. Part 63, Subpart WWWWWW (Subpart WWWWWW). The Facility has one zinc/nickel-electroplating tank subject to Subpart WWWWWW, which Imperial put into service in May 2012. Based on the February 6, 2013, inspection and Imperial's response to EPA's April 12, 2013, information request, Imperial has not submitted the Initial Notification and Notification of Compliance Status, and has not prepared an annual certification of compliance report for Subpart WWWWWW for the zinc/nickel-electroplating tank. To come into compliance, Imperial will submit to EPA an Initial Notification and Notification of Compliance Status and prepare annual certifications of compliance reports in accordance with Subpart WWWWWW. Imperial will also begin keeping the records required to show continuous compliance, and shall maintain continuous compliance, with each applicable management practice in Subpart WWWWW
