## Summary

This case addresses violations of the Clean Air Act (CAA) by Wilson Bros. DBA Galena Chrysler DBA Postal Pete( Galena Chrysler ).  Galena Chrysler is a motor vehicle dealer located in Galena, Illinois.  PostalPete.com is an affiliate specializing in right-hand-drive Jeeps. 

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) informed EPA that Galena Chrysler had imported at least 164 right-hand-drive (its competitor alleges thousands) Jeeps since 2006.  At the time the case was initiated, PostalPete.com claimed to have over 150 right hand jeeps in stock and to be the “#1 Postal Jeep Dealer in the World!”.  

57 of these vehicles were not covered by an EPA-issued certificate of conformity (COC).  Although nonconforming vehicles may be conditionally imported by an Independent Commercial Importer and modified to conform with a valid COC, neither Galena Chrysler nor PostalPete were registered Independent Commercial Importers.

As a result of this enforcement matter, Galena Chrysler paid a $5,000 civil penalty to the United States Treasury.
