EPA entered into an Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) to address violations of the Clean Air Act with Jupiter Aluminum Corporation ? Coilcoating Division (Jupiter), located in Fairland, Indiana. EPA issued a Finding of Violation (FOV) to Jupiter on December 20, 2012, alleging violations of the NESHAP for Surface Coating of Metal Coil (Part 63 Subpart SSSS) and Title V of the Clean Air Act. The CAFO requires Jupiter to pay a $140,394 civil penalty to resolve the alleged violations. EPA concurrently entered into an Administrative Consent Order with Jupiter which requires the facility to implement a new program for monitoring, calculating, and recording thermal oxidizer temperatures.
