## Summary

RCRA Compliance Evaluation Inspections conducted in 2010 of multiple of the Respondent's correctional facilities resulted in the discovery of violations. Concerns included: failure to make hazardous waste determinations, disposing of medical wastes as regular trash, and the haphazard accumulation of hazardous waste in two truck trailers. These violations were addressed with informal enforcement actions including Notices of Violation. Re-inspections of the facilities in 2013 again found RCRA violations, including the haphazard storage of hazardous waste in three truck trailers, and failure to make hazardous waste determinations of waste generated as part of DEPCOR manufacturing operations. Formal enforcement action was warranted since informal actions were not sufficient to assure that all facilities come into and remain in compliance with hazardous waste regulations.
