On May 27, 2014, Region 10 settled with Emerald Kalama Chemical, LLC for violations of the Clean Air Act at its synthetic organic chemical manufacturing facility in Kalama, Washington. The violations of EPAÂs leak detection and repair regulations were found during an NEIC inspection in June 2011. The company agreed to pay a penalty of $18,340.
