On May 20, 2014, Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement with Composite Solutions in Auburn, Washington for failure to comply with the inventory reporting requirements of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act for an OSHA hazardous chemical greater than or equal to 10,000 lbs. Liquid nitrogen used by the facility is cold enough to cause severe frostbite and excess nitrogen in the air reduces oxygen and can result in an asphyxiation. The company agreed to pay a penalty of $2,000.
