On September 12, 2014, Region 10 filed a consent agreement and final order to settle RCRA violations identified during an EPA inspection at Kronos Micronutrients, LP in Moxee, Washington. The violations alleged included land disposal of lead and cadmium hazardous waste, hazardous waste container mismanagement, failure to maintain personnel training records, and failure to implement a contingency plan. The company agreed to take steps to assure compliance with RCRA and with its permit, including submission of a closure plan for the impacted areas and proper management of hazardous waste in the future. The company agreed to pay a penalty of $206,900.
