EPA received a tip/complaint alleging the Respondent was performing renovations at a pre-1978 property in Brooklyn, NY not following lead-safe work practices, a violation of the Renovation, Repair & Painting (RRP) Rule. A work site inspection was conducted and a request for information was sent to respondent. After review of the response, EPA determined that Post Renovation Cleaning Verification was not performed, nor was the optional Clearance Testing which is allowed in lieu of Cleaning Verification. Respondent will modify their recordkeeping procedures, train workers and pay a penalty. The Respondent qualified for a reduced penalty as a micro business.
