This case addresses violations of the Clean Air Act (CAA) by U.S. Wire & Cable Corporation ( USWCC ), a rubber and plastic hose manufacturer located in Newark, New Jersey. On April 3, 2014, USWCC imported 2,666 uncertified gasoline powered grass trimmers into the port of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
As part of the settlement with EPA, USWCC paid a $15,500 civil penalty and agreed to export the trimmers outside of the United States, Mexico or Canada.
