On November 3, 2014, Region 1 issued a Clean Water Act Administrative Order on Consent to the Town of Northbridge, Massachusetts. The Town is unable to meet the limits in its new NPDES Permit for total aluminum and total nitrogen without upgrades to its wastewater treatment plant. The Order establishes a schedule for Northbridge to complete its evaluation process and to design and implement upgrades necessary to meet applicable effluent limits.
