Region 5 filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) with Mid-City Plating (Mid-City), concluding the proceeding against the company for RCRA violations. Mid-City's operations include zinc electroplating, chromate conversion coating and electro-coating. In summary, Mid-City stored F006 and F008 hazardous waste on-site for greater than 90 days,in addition to not complying with other permit exemption conditions. Mid-City is in an Environmental Justice area. The CAFO requires a payment of $3000, due to ability-to-pay analyses, and to comply with terms of a compliance order, requiring Mid-City to be in full compliance within 240 days of the effective date of the CAFO.
