On November 4, 2014, Region 10 settled with Sulphur Mills Ltd. for violations of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). Sulphur Mills Ltd. violated FIFRA by distributing or selling the pesticide product Cosavet DF (EPA Reg. No. 709095-1) with labels that lacked required updates to the Directions for Use, Precautionary Statements, and Storage and Disposal sections found on the most recent EPA-approved label. Distributing or selling misbranded pesticides are violations of Section 12(a)(1)(E) and (2)(S) of FIFRA, 7 U.S.C. 136j(a)(1)(E) and (2)(S). EPA issued a Stop Sale Use or Removal Order to the company on March 7, 2014. Sulphur Mills Ltd. corrected the violations and agreed to pay a civil penalty of $3,800.
