Summary

Aluma-Tec owns and operates a plating facility at W222 N833 Cheaney Road, Waukesha, Wisconsin (the Facility), where it conducts, among other things, chromate conversion coating. The Facility contains one hexavalent and one trivalent chromium tank that Aluma-Tec uses for chromate conversion coating and that are subject to the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants: Area Source Standards for Plating and Polishing Operations at 40 C.F.R. Part 63, Subpart WWWWWW (Subpart 6W). During a November 6, 2013, inspection of the facility, Aluma-Tec was not able to provide the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with copies of the reports that it was required to submit or prepare under Subpart 6W. Aluma-Tec thought that it submitted the Initial Notification for Subpart 6W to EPA, but EPA was not able to find it in its files or database, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has no evidence of Aluma-Tec submitting it either. To come into compliance, Aluma-Tec will submit to EPA an Initial Notification and Notification of Compliance Status report and prepare annual certifications of compliance reports in accordance with Subpart 6W
