On June 4, 2014, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Sections 1414(g) and 1445 of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) to Nambe Pueblo Headstart Water System (Respondent), for SDWA violations at its water system, located in Pojoaque, New Mexico. The AO was issued in response to maximum contaminant level violations spanning several years for elevated arsenic levels in drinking water. The AO requires Respondent to comply with arsenic contaminant level requirements. Respondent must respond to EPA Region 6 within 60 days of the issuance date of the AO.
