On August 2, 2016, the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho entered an ability-to-pay Consent Decree resolving liability and ordering payment of $523,000 in past costs for EPA?s removal actions at the Orofino Asbestos Superfund Site during 2008-2010. The asbestos contamination occurred when Owyhee Construction, a contractor of the Riverside Water and Sewer District, crushed concrete asbestos pipe and then disposed it as fill across several properties in Orofino, Idaho.
