On June 19, 2015, Region 10 filed an Expedited Settlement Agreement to resolve Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan violations at Silver Bay Seafoods in Sitka, Alaska. Respondent's SPCC plan lacked the following: certification by a professional engineer and management approval; adequate predictions of equipment failure that could result in discharges; a discussion of appropriate containment/diversionary structures/equipment; a contingency plan; and a written commitment of manpower, equipment and other resources. Respondent agreed to pay a penalty of $1,500 and correct the violations within 90 days.
