On June 19, 2015, EPA Region 10 and the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) filed a consent agreement and final order resolving violations of Section 311(b) of the Clean Water Act, 33 U.S.C.1321(b)(3) by Cascade Petroleum Transportation, Inc. On March 12, 2012, a Cascade transport truck failed to stay in its lane on U.S. Highway 58 at Mile Post 31 and overturned into a ditch that connects to the Middle Fork Willamette River, resulting in a discharge of approximately 5,600 gallons (133 barrels) of diesel and gasoline. The company agreed to pay a penalty of $60,300 to EPA and $16,000 to ODEQ.
