On July 1, 2015, Region 10 settled with Goodrich Corporation, Spokane, Washington for violations of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) 304 and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) 103 that resulted from a hydrogen cyanide release which exceeded their Clean Air permit. Goodrich failed to report the release to the National Response Center (NRC), the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC), and the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), as required by Section 304 of EPCRA and Section 103 of CERCLA. The penalty is $52,000; $10,400 for violations of CERCLA and $41,600 for violations of EPCRA.
