On April 8, 2015, Region 10 issued a compliance order to Gateway Parks LLC in Boise, Idaho, requiring compliance with the asbestos National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (asbestos NESHAP). Multiple buildings known to be contaminated with asbestos were demolished without Gateway Parks, the property owner, first notifying EPA or removing the asbestos-contaminated material. The order requires Respondent to keep the asbestos-contaminated debris adequately wet, properly remove the debris, and follow the asbestos NESHAP requirements for future demolitions of the remaining intact buildings.
