EPA Region I and Atlantic Union College have entered into an administrative settlement regarding CAA violations that EPA alleged occurred at Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, Massachusetts. The College uses diesel engines to generate electricity for the College. EPA alleged violations of the NESHAP for Stationary Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines found at 40 CFR Part 63, Subpart ZZZZ (?RICE NESHAP?), including the failure to conduct emissions testing. Atlantic Union has since complied with the performance standards. Atlantic Union has installed control devices, and a recent emissions test was within regulatory limits. The CAFO requires that the College pay an administrative civil penalty of $45,800.
