## Summary

The RCRA Branch issued one of its first Expedited Settlement Agreement and Final Order (ESA) in September. This ESA requires All-Brite Anodizing Company (Respondent) to pay a civil penalty of $1,200 for violations of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976 (RCRA), and the Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments of 1984 (HSWA). The respondent owns and operates a facility located at 100 West Lake St, Northlake, IL. On July 21, 2015, EPA offered the Respondent the opportunity for an expedited settlement for violations that included: 1) failing to mark containers of F006 hazardous waste properly; 2) failing to store F006 hazardous waste in a container, a tank, on a drip pad or in a containment building; 3) failing to post emergency information next to a telephone; 4) failing to conduct weekly inspections of the hazardous waste storage area; and, 5) failing to determine if certain materials were a hazardous waste. The respondent agreed to the terms and has thus prevented several thousand pounds of hazardous waste from being stored improperly.
