In July 2013, Nexamp submitted a Notice of Intent (?NOI?) for storm water permit coverage under the 2012 NPDES General Permit for Storm Water Discharges from Construction Activities (?GCP?) for the Site. During a CWA compliance inspection in April 2014, Region 1 observed several locations at the site where existing stormwater controls had failed and required maintenance/repair, as well as sand and sediment from stormwater discharges deposited into adjacent wetlands. Nexamp spent approximately $120,000 to address the impacts to the wetlands from the late March 2014 rain event.
II not properly controlled, stormwater discharges from the Site reach several wetland areas adjacent to the Site. The wetlands discharge to Hubbardston Brook, which in turn flow into the Otter and Millers Rivers and eventually discharge into the Connecticut River.
