On October 16, 2015, EPA Region 10 settled alleged violations of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act with UIC Construction, LLC and UIC Roofing, LLC. Both companies are based in Anchorage, Alaska. According to EPA, on October 19, 2010, employees of UIC Roofing, LLC transported hazardous waste to a property owned by UIC On October 16, 2015, Region 10 filed consent agreements and final orders with UIC Roofing, LLC and UIC Construction, LLC to address Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) violations at their facilities located in Anchorage, Alaska. The UIC Roofing, LLC violations included failure to obtain generator and transporter identification numbers prior to transporting hazardous waste, failure to prepare a hazardous waste manifest, failure to designate a permitted facility to receive the hazardous waste, and failure to only offer waste to facilities that have an EPA identification number. The UIC Construction LLC violation involved the storage of hazardous waste without a RCRA permit. UIC Roofing, LLC agreed to pay $59,724 and UIC Construction, LLC agreed to pay $80,456 in civil penalties.
