This case addresses alleged violations of the Clean Air Act by Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Corporation, Ltd., a public corporation based in Shizuoka, Japan. The violations concern the importation of over 55,000 non-compliant motorcycles, recreational vehicles and small gasoline engines. As part of the settlement, Yamaha will pay a civil penalty of $950,000 to the U.S. Treasury.
