On October 23. 2015, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 6, Enforcement Division and Office of Regional Counsel, filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) with East West Copolymer, LLC, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (East West). The CAFO requires East West to Pay a civil penalty of $8,864.22, within 30 days, and preform a Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP), worth $33,240. This action settles violations of the Chemical Accident Prevention Provisions (40 C.F.R. part 68) discovered during an onsite inspection on July 14-17, 2014. The SEP involves providing chemical release emergency response equipment to the local fire department. Including 12 GETAC F110 11.6 Tablets, each with accompanying broadband access, upgrade to 8GB memory, Intel Core Upgrade, Expansion Port, vehicle adaptor, office dock, and carrying brackets for BRFD.
