Significant lead contamination was found in the backyard of a home that is occupied by a young couple and their toddler. Testing of the toddler revealed elevated blood lead levels. EPA visited the home and conducted initial testing of the soil, which registered well above EPA's action level. Through discussions with the residents and Daniel Butler, EPA identified the McKallip Paper Trust as a potentially responsible party (PRP). EPA has negotiated and reached an agreement with the Trust under which the Trust agrees to perform the removal and reimburse EPA for any future costs incurred.
