This case involves importation of 315 uncertified farm equipment engines by Claas of America, Inc. Claas is a manufacturer of agricultural equipment, including self-propelled combines and forage harvesters.
As part of the settlement, Claas greed to pay a $202,348 civil penalty to the U.S. Treasury, to relabel 90% of the engines and to reprogram four of the engines to meet US Tier 4 standards instead of the European standards.
