EPA issued Sensient a Notice of Violation (NOV) on June 29, 2015, alleging that Sensient failed to operate their pollution control equipment as required by their operating permit, and failed to abide by the facility's Malfunction Abatement Plan. These violations were identified during the review of a Section 114 Information Request. EPA and Sensient held a Section 113 conference on August 25, 2015, during which Sensient demonstrated that it had taken proactive steps to address many of the compliance issues at the facility. This ACO will confirm compliance and allow EPA to move forward in settlement.
