On September 30, 2016, Region 10 entered into an administrative order on consent resolving violations of the Clean Water Act by Teal Jones Lumber Services, Inc. Respondent operates a lumber planar and wood treatment facility in Sumas, Washington, and discharges stormwater associated with industrial activity under an NPDES general permit issued by the Washington Department of Ecology. The company revised and updated its stormwater pollution prevention plan to incorporate detailed operations and maintenance procedures for its stormwater treatment system and added sampling procedures for two additional stormwater discharge points.
