On May 9, 2016, the Region entered into an order on consent (Order) with the Town of Hull, Massachusetts to address sanitary sewer overflows from its wastewater collection system. Hull owns and operates a publicly owned treatment works that serves approximately 10,000 people. Under the terms of the Order, Hull will develop and implement an Emergency Response Plan, an Infiltration and Inflow (I/I) Control Plan, and a Capacity, Management, Operations, and Maintenance program. The Town has agreed to perform all work under the Order utilizing practices to improve the resilience of the sewer system to the impacts of climate change.
