On May 19, 2016, EPA Region 6 issued a CAFO under its authority pursuant to CAA to TPC Group located Port Neches, TX. The CAFO was issued in response to violations of the respondent failing to design and maintain a safe facility and did not taking such necessary steps to prevent accidental releases of chlorine by failing to accurately track preventative maintenance and repairs or routine inspections, which upon failure released chlorine to the ambient air. The CAFO requires TPC Group to pay $30,750 to Region 6 within 30 days of the effective date of the order.
