On June 9, 2016, Region 2 entered into an Administrative Order and Settlement Agreement (AOC) with New York City relating to the Gowanus Canal Superfund Site, which is located in Brooklyn, New York. The AOC provides for the remedial design of a CSO storage tank at 2 locations, acquisition of property to site the tank, performance of a removal action to prepare the property for the installation of the tank, and for reimbursement of EPA's oversight costs.
