## Summary

On January 30, 2017, Region 1 filed a consent agreement and final order (CAFO) settling claims for civil penalties against Respondents for violating TSCA by failing to disclose known lead-based paint (LBP) and/or LBP hazards in the course of leasing properties in Essex Junction and Burlington, Vermont.  Pursuant to the settlement, Respondents will pay a penalty of $24,122 and implement several measures intended to promote their continued compliance with state and federal LBP regulatory requirements.  These measures include putting in place a system to ensure proper implementation and tracking of LBP regulatory requirements, submittal to EPA of leases for one year, and joining a residential landlord association to help ensure Respondents stay apprised of LBP regulations
